Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

Lead by Example:

  • o    Oversee shop operations and ensure the proper execution of all standards and best practices
  • o    Management of the Division’s budget
  • o    Meet or exceed Gross Profit yearly goals
  • o    Participate in the Dyer Leadership meetings
  • o    Drive all company Strategic Initiatives associated with the Shop
  • o    Establish and track yearly goals and initiatives for all potential shop work (In-house & 3<sup>rd</sup> party)

 

Build Lifelong Partnerships:

o    Project Management of all 3<sup>rd</sup> Party Fabrication Projects which includes the following:

§  Accurately and timely estimate each project to incorporate all necessary costs and scope of work

§  Present quotations to customers professionally and with the necessary detail to clearly evaluate our pricing and scope. Follow-up with customers and address any questions, requests for changes, additional pricing or clarifications

§  Project & budget set-up

§  Continuous communication with customer on all project related issues and overall status

§  Material & subcontractor procurement

§  Invoicing & billing (Schedule of Values)

§  Monthly Cost to Complete projections

o    Provide clear and timely direction to coordinators/detailers, subcontractors and vendors.

o    Manage the document control process to ensure the most accurate and current information is distributed timely to the required personnel.

o    Manage communication with the Customer to coordinate work, resolve issues, address change orders while maintaining a positive relationships

 

Act with Integrity:

o    Ensure all quality related items are being addressed

o    Review of shop spools for accuracy

o    Development, management and forecasting of the shop schedule and required shop manpower

o    Assist in determining Labor Productivity (% Complete) for all Phase 8 & Phase 9 labor codes

 

Put People First:

o    Work with the Safety Director to ensure all shop employees have the necessary equipment and training to perform their jobs safely. 

o    Ensure any safety related issues are handled promptly and appropriately

o    Work with Operations to ensure proper staffing of all shop fabrication work

 

Challenge the Ordinary:

o Work closely with all shop personnel for shop process and equipment improvements/upgrades

o    Actively participate in the Pre-fabrication Strategic Initiative

o    Proactive search of latest technologies to improve shop productivity

o    Drive the Stratus program in the shop

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • ASME welding code knowledge
  • CWI preferred
  • Knowledge of industry standard NDE procedures
  • 10+ years’ experience in management of a pipe fabrication shop is preferred

Physical Demands:

  •  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Office environment / Fabrication Shop
