Summary: Schedule, manage and lead the plumbing and piping BIM Coordination Team to enhance the preliminary system design received from Estimating into a detailed construction drawing that complies with the contract documents, selected equipment, and approved submittals which can be constructed on time and within budget. Lead coordination team efforts on large/ complex projects as assigned. Assist in the training and development of BIM Coordinators.

Essential Functions including the following, but not limited to the below.

 

Lead by Example:

  •  Manage and schedule the piping and plumbing BIM Coordinators
  •  Lead and manage the coordination process on projects, including BIM activities, from start to finish.
  •  Actively participate in Dyer Leadership Team
  •    Manage/support the coordination process to ensure adequate fabrication lead time to meet construction schedule.
  • Produce installation drawings with appropriate detail to facilitate construction. 

Build Lifelong Partnerships:

  • Communicate status/issues regularly to Internal and External Customers.
  •  Issue RFP’s and issues contracts to our 3rd party coordination partners.
  •  Management of coordination process/ team on assigned projects.
  • Quality Assurance of Coordination Drawings Peer Review.
  • Work with third party BIM Coordination subcontractors 

Act with Integrity:

  • Manage and support the coordination process to ensure adequate fabrication lead times to meet construction schedule.
  • Produce installation drawings with appropriate detail to facilitate construction
  •  Identify conflicts and/or missing information in contract documents. Generate/ track RFI’s as appropriate.
  • On a monthly basis, maintain and submit the project coordination cost summary to upper management.

Put People First:

  • Training and coaching of assigned employees in coordination techniques and standards.
  •  Work with the staff on continuous training on the tools and abilities of Revit to become quicker and agile.

 

Challenge the Ordinary:

  • Create Coordination Drawings which result in a clash free designer
  • Optimize design/layout to improve system performance and minimize installation costs.
  • Identify conflicts and/or missing information in contract documents. 
  • Generate/track RFI’s as appropriate.

Physical Demands:

  • Long periods of sitting
  • Walking project job sites, climbing stairways

Work Environment:

  • Office environment
  •  Working at a desk and on computers/monitors for the majority of the time
  • Occasional project site visit or working in a project site trailer
